The olive tree is an elegant, slow-growing, long-lived plant which is ideal for a sunny, sheltered spot. The olive tree retains its silver-grey leaves all year and, in the summer, it produces tiny, fragrant, creamy-white flowers. The olive fruits ripen in the autumn.
This olive tree is equally happy in a pot, or planted in the ground as long as it has plenty of sun and is planted in free draining soil.
To care for your olive tree, water it regularly during dry periods and apply a top dressing of nitrogen-rich general fertilizer 2-3 times per year, during the growing season. Shoots can be trimmed or pinched out in the summer as required to retain shape.
This plant is hardy to -5 degrees and some care may be required during extended cold spells.
